Skies & Pies with Richard Darn – 19th December 2024

Join us for a magical cosmic journey to the stars and beyond with local astrophotographer, Richard Darn.
We’ll be breaking out the big telescopes and binoculars to spy some of the wonders of the night sky. Top of our target list will be the biggest planet of the lot, Jupiter, with Mars rising in the east and Saturn setting in the west. Plus we’ll take a tour of the sparkling winter constellations, keep eyes peeled for shooting stars and we may even be able to glimpse the Milky Way. If the weather does not co-operate we’ll give you a beginners guide to the Universe with our colourful online planetarium show and include tips on the right gear to buy to satisfy your stargazing needs!
(The talk will be split into two halves, with a pie and peas supper served during the break.)
Recommended for children 10+. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
Capacity for this event is limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.
The event will take place in the Meadow Lake Suite.
Parking is included as part of the ticket price.
