The City Museum’s summer exhibition looks at how the Romans lived, worked and built the fort at the heart of our city. The very name of ‘Lancaster’ describes a fort (castrum) on the River Lune, and the city as we know it grew from these ancient Roman roots.

Exhibition entry is included with standard museum admission:

  • Lancaster District Residents – FREE
  • Other adults – £5 (or 2 for £8)
  • Children – FREE
  • Carers accompanying disabled visitors – FREE
  • Weekly and Annual Multipass tickets available.

Open 10:30am – 4pm every Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday & Tuesday.
